The DPD80 USB Photodetector

A digital USB photodetector allowing data to be streamed directly to your computer over USB 3.1, eliminating the need for a separate oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer.

DPD80 Digital Photodetector High Speed Low Noise USB streaming

Ultra-low Noise Measurements

With minimum noise equivalent powers of 3.0 pW / √ Hz  (760 nm) and 1.5 pW / √ Hz  (1550 nm) for the Si and InGaAs versions of photodiodes, the DPD80 USB Photodetector has lowest in-class noise floors of similar 100 MHz amplified detectors.

In addition to the 50Ω SMA analog output (DC - 100 MHz, -3dB), the integrated signal conditioning and digitization pathways optimize data collection and simplify measurement setups.

Fast Data Streaming to your Computer

The DPD80 photodetector continuously streams data to your computer at a rate of 80 million samples / second (160 MB/s) using the USB 3.1 Gen 1 protocol. This digital connection from photodetector to computer enables powerful digital signal processing abilities, while negating the need for an additional power supply.

Programming with Python, MATLAB™, and C/C++ libraries is supported allowing extensive customization of your data collection routines.

Included User Interface for Real-time Data Analysis

Our OpenGL accelerated user interface visualizes the incoming optical data in either the time domain or the frequency domain, eliminating the need for an external oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer or analog to digital converter. Saving data and controlling your DPD80 USB photodetector is made simple with our interface.
